Hawaii Cruise - Day 12 - Arriving in Vancouver

We arrived in Vancouver this morning, barely thought we'd fit under that bridge, but of course, we did. After a few hours hanging out at the airport, we made our way on to the plane, back to Phoenix and home tonight at 7pm. Now, it's back to reality(work) tomorrow. Hope you enjoyed following along on our anniversary trip, we had a great time.

Hawaii Cruise - Days 7 - 11 - At Sea

We spent our last 5 days at sea with no cell phone service or Wi-Fi, so that's my excuse for being slow to update the blog. There are a lot of things to do and see on the ship while you are at sea. The schedule starts at 7:00am and goes past midnight everyday. We spent time at the pools, played bingo, saw a movie and saw a lot of entertainment (dancers, singers, a juggler and comedians). We also spent some time in the Schooner Bar visiting with some new friends and of course we ate and ate and ate some more.

Hawaii Cruise - Day 6 - Hilo

Today we docked in Hilo. It's a lot easier to get off and on the ship when it's docked verses having to be tendered to shore. We once again boarded a bus and headed out to see the sights. 1st stop was Rainbow Falls. Very cool waterfall. 2nd stop was Akatsuka Orchid Gardens. They claimed to have an orchid worth $20,000 but we chose not to pay the extra $5 to see it. I really enjoyed the restroom and cold drinks. Our next stop was the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut factory. Our last three stops where in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park where we were able to hike through a lava tube, see the Kilauea Volcano release a robust plume of volcanic gas and spend some time in the visitor center.

Hawaii Cruise - Day 5 - Kauai

We docked in Nawillwili this morning and boarded a bus and headed to Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of Hawaii. Smaller than the one in Arizona but very green and beautiful. Our driver was a native Hawaiian and talked the whole time giving us a lot of information on the island and Hawaii.

We have seen wild chickens on every island

Hawaii Cruise - Day 4 - Kailua Kona

The ship anchored this morning in Kailua Kona. Only one shore excursion planned today. We tendered to shore and headed to Big Island Harley Davidson and picked the Heritage Softail we rented. Hit a couple of scenic byways and headed out to see Pu'uhonuo Honaunau National History Park. We then headed back to the ship and hung out at the pool for a couple hours before dinner.

Hawaii Cruise - Day 3 - Maui

Today we did a tour of Maui. We saw some fish at the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, plants at the Maui Tropical Plantation and some cool scenery at Iao Valley State Monument. And of course we still had time to do some more shopping in Lahaina,
